Your English teacher's formula is completely solid as a basis, and it's really important to get that lesson down before moving on to messing around with it. Not every paragraph is going to get those points down, but it's a great frame of reference...
Thanks for the comment lol. I just, I don't know. I mean, I never looked at it as like help, just them telling you how to write. It just made me itch when my teacher said, "The paragraph has to be exactly eight sentences."

Writing Formula?

(TS)- Topic Sentence
(D1)- Detail one
(E1)- Elaboration 1
(etc.)
And then finally the (C) Conclusion sentence.
