I think destiny is self-appointed. Fate is like believing in soul mates or love at first sight or things like that, you know? But chance, I think, is the most concrete of these three. I agree with you that fate runs its course, but I think you wi...

harrrooo I think these formulas or methods of teaching are just ways to teach us all the fundamentals of writing. But I'm with you--creativity has no rules. But when it comes to our effectiveness to our writing, we do need these formulas or metho...

You're a writing machine, dude. You just finished your manuscript and you're already on another one? wow.

lol. I see what you mean. But it also helps to read the actual definitions of words, terms, anything really. And I really love tragedy's definition: a.A drama or literary work in which the main character is brought to ruin or suffers extreme sorro...

You can't have a tragedy without at least someone living, since life has to go on despite the presence of death. There can't be complete darkness surrounding your main characters, but at the same time if your story is based on complete doom than i...

I just want to view them as inspiration. but that pop-culture collage sounds like it would be fun!
July 24
You mean to want to view them for inspiration? Or you need them to piece together some kind of pop-culture collage?

oh, by all means point any grammar mistakes, typos, anything haha. The more I see my mistakes, the quicker I can pick up on them in the future. XD

lol. What I did before I even started writing was put together a binder full of paper. And over the time I spent thinking about this story, I wrote at least 100 pages worth of notes, ideas, drawings, plotlines, character ideas, events, places. A...

finished with my new plotline.

it was a good break from writing, I guess.
I took the time to watch movies, to read books, to gather up any type of ideas i can conjure up from the inspiration.
My plan was to put in a new ending for my story.
But after a few hours thinking it over and trying to figure out how things would all fit together,
I ended up still loving my original ending.

I think I like reading and writing tragedies.
romeo and juliet, i think, had the perfect ending.
Now, it's been a while since I read it, but they… Continue

Revised Chapter 2

Actually, while I'm in the mood, I'm going to post chapter 2 also haha. It seems people are either busy with their lives or taking a break from their writing, so hopefully I can keep the torch lit with these new blogs.

Again, I would love any feedback =]

new chapter one

So this is my revised version of chapter 1. I realized that I needed to add alot more background story to Jacob and to establish where he's at in life. And also, I tried to improve my narration and hopefully I succeeded.

Hope you enjoy!

I just got done reading my first draft.

And I can see the bigger picture of this whole concept of what it means to be an author.
"Most people’s first novels well and truly suck. Oh my, yes they do."
-A quote by John Scalzi that I nicked from K's recent blog of him haha.
I hated this quote, I wanted to prove it wrong, haha.
But as it so stands, I understand it now (accept is a better word) because after reading my first draft, I know I can do much better. It will take time and sweat, but I know I can do better--ALOT BETTER, i think hah… Continue
